POLICY
Acceptable Use & Fair Use Policy
Nimbus is a free service with shared capacity. These rules keep it safe, fast and available for everyone.
1. Acceptance of these terms
By installing or using Nimbus (the Windows app, the Android app, or the in-browser service), you agree to this Acceptable Use & Fair Use Policy (the “Policy”). If you do not agree, do not use Nimbus.
2. A free service, and what that means
Nimbus is provided free of charge. To keep it free we may introduce advertising or sponsored placements in the apps or on the website in the future. We will not sell the content of your traffic. Free does not mean unlimited: capacity is shared between all users and is subject to the limits below.
3. Fair use limits
- Monthly allowance: each device may transfer up to 20 GB per calendar month.
- Selected locations: Thailand, Japan and Poland are additionally limited to 500 MB per device per day and may be unavailable when shared capacity is full.
- Shared capacity: we may throttle, queue or pause connections to protect service quality for everyone.
- Limits are measured by Nimbus and shown in the app. They may change as the service grows.
4. Prohibited activity
You must not use Nimbus to:
- violate any applicable law or regulation, or to help anyone else do so;
- create, access, store or distribute child sexual abuse material. This is reported to the relevant authorities, and access is terminated immediately;
- attack, probe or scan networks or systems you do not own or have explicit permission to test, including port scanning, brute-forcing, exploitation and denial-of-service attacks of any size;
- send spam or bulk unsolicited messages, run open mail relays, or harvest addresses;
- commit fraud, phishing, identity theft, carding, credential stuffing, or evade payment or account-security controls;
- distribute malware, run botnets or command-and-control infrastructure;
- infringe copyright, trademarks or other intellectual-property rights;
- harass, threaten, dox or stalk any person;
- run cryptocurrency mining, large-scale scraping or other sustained high-volume automated workloads;
- host servers, proxies or exit nodes behind Nimbus, or relay traffic for third parties.
5. Protecting our infrastructure and credentials
The Nimbus apps contain connection details, device tokens and proxy credentials that belong to Nimbus and are issued to you for your own personal use on your own device. You must not:
- extract, copy, publish, share, sell or trade proxy usernames, passwords, tokens, tunnel keys or configuration files;
- reverse engineer, decompile or tamper with the apps or the service to obtain such details or to bypass limits;
- use credentials taken from Nimbus with any software other than the official Nimbus apps;
- create multiple devices, identities or installs to get around allowances or bans;
- interfere with, overload or attempt to gain unauthorised access to Nimbus servers, APIs or other users’ connections.
Credentials that are leaked, resold or abused are revoked without notice.
6. No reselling or commercial redistribution
Nimbus is for personal, non-commercial use. You may not resell, sublicense, share or otherwise make Nimbus access available to third parties, or use it as part of a commercial product or service, without our written permission.
7. Logging and privacy
This is a plain-language summary, not a claim of perfect anonymity. Nimbus keeps only the data needed to run and protect the service, and we do not inspect the content of your traffic.
Romania Secure
Romania Secure uses a WireGuard tunnel between your device and Nimbus’s Romania server. This protects the connection between your device and that server and gives websites the server’s Romania IP address.
Other locations
Other listed locations use direct proxy routes. HTTPS websites still encrypt their own content, but these locations are not described as WireGuard VPN tunnels.
Service data
Nimbus creates an anonymous device identifier to enforce fair-use limits and to receive reports you send from the app. The service tracks Nimbus-reported connection state and usage counters for quota purposes.
Important
No network service can promise complete anonymity. Use Nimbus responsibly and do not rely on it for high-risk activity.
8. Enforcement
If we believe this Policy has been broken, or that your use threatens the service, other users or our upstream providers, we may, with or without notice: warn you; throttle or limit your device; suspend or permanently revoke your device and credentials; block related devices or networks; remove content; and report unlawful activity to the relevant authorities and co-operate with valid legal requests. Decisions about abuse are made at our discretion.
9. Availability and liability
Nimbus is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, specific speeds or that any location will always be available. To the extent permitted by law, Nimbus is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the service. You are responsible for what you do while connected.
10. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy as Nimbus changes, for example if we add advertising or new locations. Continued use after an update means you accept the new version. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
